Why Such a Bargain?
I suppose I ought to keep my mouth shut, but it seems buying a new Jaguar in the USA is an incredibly good deal. The list price is at least 20% less than in the UK (allowing for tax, license, etc), plus we get 5 years free maintenance, a 5 year warranty and 1.9% financing.
We also get the supercharged versions which look to me like 95% of the Supersport model for 80% of the money.
I'm not complaining, but what's the catch? Are Jaguar just competing hard because of the size of the US market?

In the Netherlands, a XJ supercharged including taxes for consumers (for CO2 emissions amongst others) would cost 185.000 euros, about $250.000 with the current currency rate. Without the taxes it is 114.000 euro, about $154.000.
So yes I agree you have a good deal overthere ;-)
Not sure why the differences are this big either to be honest.

In the USA an XJ supercharged including tax and license is about $98,750, so that saves about $151,261 compared with the Netherlands at $250,000.
A saving of 60%? It's hard to believe, but it seems to be true.
Even without taxes the fair comparison is about $89,000 to $154,000, so that's a 42% saving.

I never have understood why luxury cars and motorcycles are so much more expensive overseas than in the USA. You would think that with most of them being manufactured over there they would be cheaper due to lower transportation costs. Must just be a market condition thing.
