XJ 2010 electrical systems failure
I'm after some advice; my xj has not missed a beat before, but yesterday I got in it and everything electrical went wild when I went to start it??
The gear selected didn't rise, it wouldn't start, and there were countless warning messages flashing up. Plus the auto lights wouldn't turn off, and the clock was just spinning around??
Any ideas on what could've caused it (I drive it an hour before it went crazy with no issues), and if there's anything I can try to resolve it? I tried disconnecting the battery for 5 mins with no luck...
Failing that, is there a way of putting the car into neutral so I can at least get it trailered to a dealer??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

The battery may need to be replaced. A failing or weak battery can cause some of the mysterious electrical faults to occur.
If you operate the vehicle in a climate with extreme heat in summer and extreme cold in winter, or do not drive it regularly, the battery life is shortened.

Here is a video showing all JLR vehicles. If your XJ is RWD then you have to pop off the little "pen" tray in the left hand side of the center console storage bin. The XJ stuff is about 4 minutes + in.
