Default Missing trunk lock

Hi
just got this 1994 xj 12 and I find that the car has a missing rear trunk lock ???
Any reason the previews owner will take the lock out ?
Thanks

Welcome.

Only answer would be with that person.

Maybe to access the mechanical workings for boot/trunk access.

Give an ask in the XJ40 section, and see what arrives.
