I've owned several 5L V8 Mustangs in my younger years, then V8 3 Corvettes, now this V8 F-Type R. My wife's previous BMW 7 series were all V8, & her current Mercedes E400 is twin turbo V6. Have never been to jail yet. Interstate speed limit in Central & West Texas is 85 mph, so ave freeway speeds are 95.
90% of vehicles around here are large pickup trucks & SUVs, so we just wanted to make sure there's enough low end torque to get her up to speed on freeway on-ramps & passing 18 wheelers at speed.
Also, her previous BMWs & Mercedes are built like tanks, so she feels pretty safe & secure. Assume XJ are equally safe?

Congrats on the purchase! What color did you choose? Also, did you get both the $30k off and the 0% you mentioned in your initial post? Just curious because the dealer I'm working with is telling me that I cant get the subvented 0% with the big discounts advertised on their 2019s. I was planning to contact another dealer anyway, but I'm curious what your experience was.

 

Wife wanted White ext & London tan interior.
Got a little over $29K off, and they gave me $2000 - $3500 more for my trade-in than the other dealers.
They didn't give me the 0%, but settled on 2.3% for 72 months instead.
We settled on a great final OTD, out the door, price.
Only a $370 window tint as BS dealer profit added, instead of $1000+ at other dealers...
