Default XJ/XJL Picture Thread

The XJ is beautiful to look at. I own an XJ but I don't see them that often so when I do, I find myself staring at other XJs/XJLs on street, in the parking lot and especially on the interstate (poetry in motion).

Haven't seen many XJ pictures posted on forum so I thought I would start what will hopefully be a living this thread as new owners join...

Gentlemen (and ladies), post 'em if you got 'em. I'll start with my 2011 XJ SWB aka my ThunderCat

Here is my 2011 XJL that I have had for almost 3 weeks now. So far the only mods I've done are 5% tint all the way around and 20% on the windshield and replaced all of the interior bulbs with LEDs.

On the list to do:

New wheels
Akebono Ceramic Pads
Paint Calipers or Caliper Covers
DRL LED Hack
Video in Motion
Dual exhaust tips, maybe?
Front lip

Thinking about: gloss black wrap on the roof area that is painted to have a completely black roof and blacking out the chrome trim around the windows which I think would flow better with the black pillars.

Good choice of mods...anxious to see how black roof/blackout trim turns out.

Curious...How is 20% tint on windshield working for you...Do have a heated windshield and if so, did reduce the "prism" effect from the heating elements?

Sweet...The leather headliner looks awesome! The smell of extra leather must be intoxicating.

Funny thing my 2001 XJR always had a great leather smell, but this XJ has, practically, none. Must be the aniline leather, I'm guessing. What I also really love is the tipped leather on the upper doors, around the door pockets, the top of the instrument binnacle, and above the wood on the dashboard.

I love it...makes the car look better to me when you look at it from the front or from the side...people always look twice when they realize they can't see in, especially on a cloudy day.

Nope, since the original owner was in FL, no need for the heated windshield.

XJsss,
Does your interior have the mauveine lined storage compartments and glove box? I think they look really sharp and unique and go well with the clock.

When they showed me the color that the storage areas would be I was blown away. It's definitely different very neon and I love it! Please excuse the wear in the cup holder area, kids, what can you say.

I have to admit, I am a little jealous of the mauveine storage compartments. Looks nice. Here is the new addition to our family, replacing a beloved XFR. Finn McMissile, complete with Recaro car seats.

The wheels came standard. It seemed that 3 other XJL SC's they had also has this wheel. The upcharge wheel was for the Kasuga wheel I believe. I really like them, especially as they are painted a grey color.

First of all, congratulations on your car ! It looks AWESOME !

One question : those rear TV/Ipad thingies are Jaguar OEM ? Did they come with the car or aftermarket ? I have kids as well and mine did not come with those and I would like to install someting of sorts like that.

Best,

GP

@ Goncalo Proneca
Thanks! The screens are OEM and were part of "Premium Edition" package. They interface with the front monitor/DVD player. I don't know if they can be retrofitted.

thanks ! I suspected that since after I asked you, I look closely again to your pictures and the back of the TV's have the same leather as your car and I though "there we go..."

Retrofit stuff in the XJ is pretty much impossible
