Default Xjl inertia switch

2011 xjl rebuild, motor turns over, no start, is there a inertia switch on this model Jag...

If it is the same as the X350's, then the inertia switch is located in the front passenger foot well, just in front of the door. There might be a round hole in the plastic trim piece to locate the switch. Otherwise pull the trim piece off.

Well yes and no - there isn't one like the X350 but the safety cut off is part of the restraints control module. Search the module pdf for C3R114A to see its location.


You'll need to read any fault codes to determine if it is the RCM causing the no start. The SRS (supplemental restraint system) AKA RCM outputs a crash signal on the high speed CAN, the ECM de-energizes the fuel pump relay to prevent any further fuel being pumped to the engine. However the are many other reasons for no start so you need to read all fault codes.
