Hi I just had a strange episode with my XJL 3.0L (2014). I went to start it on Saturday but there was no electrical power, at all....seemed like the battery had been removed. The doors were unlocked. No problem, I have jump leads...where?? yes in the boot which I can't open. OK, let's see what the manual says........ its in the glove compartment....which I can't open.

So, I borrowed some jump leads and put 12v across the engine bay terminals and the car came back to life. Started no problem, tons of power in the battery. All the electrics needed to be reset, clock, handbrake, windows. I have used it yesterday and today....no further problems

Can anyone tell me what may have happened? Is there a component that can cut all power?? I really don't want to have to carry jump leads in the back seat forever.
