I have been reading around for a few months now so thought to sign up and see if anyone could kindly help point me in the right direction. I have the 2001 model. Was a car I always wanted from a young age so. Any way long story short. Had been running absolutely brilliantly until one day it sound very rattley after I started it to leave for a drive. As soon as I tried to hit the accelerator it would just cut out. I called a mobile mechanic out who had a good go at it for a few hours. He checked everything. Car would crank, had compression, spark and fuel I believe. He opened up the throttle body and poured fuel right into it and would actually run. He said he was 90% sure it was problem with the ecu. Actually got the car running fine but switching some relays around but said he couldn't say how long it would last. To my disappointment only lasted a day. From the ecu specialists I have spoken to have said it shouldn't be ecu if there was any communication from it which there was as he had it plugged into the obd port and was trying to figure out what was going wrong.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have no clue what to do.
