I found the top speed, in the manual: 155 mph. Says it is electronically limited. I don't plan to try that out, ever.

Under the right conditions (a racetrack) and in a vehicle that is in top shape in all regards, it would be quite a rush. I also think it would be frightening!

I don't doubt the V12 would do it and then some. There must be XJ-S people who have. Like Grant Francis or Ronbros?

I’ve seen 230 kph/ 142 mph briefly in my V12 when overtaking a string of slower cars and it didn’t even look like backing off the acceleration. I ran outa road and nerve to go any faster but I have no doubt the car would do 250kph.
Cheers,
Jeff.

Speedo's said 160 mph. Didn't hit the limiters but I must have been close. Smooth as silk. Did not seem that I was going that fast at all with things so smooth. On a closed race course... of coarse. You bring my '79 Z-28 up to 120 mph and it's scary as F#ck.

Had my XJR/6 up to about 115mh once and, to be honest, didn't like it a bit. I was sorely disappointed at how 'light' the car became. My old XJS was hunkered-down-and-rock-solid at those speeds.

As the years go by, though, I find myself not at all inclined to go that fast. My reflexes and eyes ain't what they used to be !

Cheers
DD
