Secondary air pump issue
My air pump throws a code occasionally. The clutch does not appear to be operating correctly. Has anyone else had this issue ?
the part seems like a difficult to find and pricey unit.

Ah, secondary air injection. What a pain. But we needed something to hold the water pump belt on!
The pump has a magnetic clutch. Could be the clutch coil. Check continuity. Take off the belt and check the spin of the pulley. Did you say you had noise from the pump before? If bearings are bad that would explain it.
Make sure the flexible air hoses are not split. Pump to pipe is buried down deep. The rubber hoses at the rear of the A bank connect the solenoid vacuum valve, which operates the air switching valve on the big hose at the rear center of the engine. That allows air to flow to the exhaust outlets via ports going through the intake manifold flanges and cylinder head! Too much information, right?

That's not surprising. If the pump itself is ok, I believe there are clutch rebuilding services. That's probably the way to go.
In the meantime, unplug the clutch and that will basically deactivate the system. You will have to live with the CEL, but there will be no running issues.

I have never seen or heard of clutch rebuilders.
EAC8810 is the pump for both the early AJ6 SAI pump and for the 6.0 but the clutch\pulley differ. 6.0 clutch is available brand new for a whopping 300 pounds.
