09 xj8l blown engine
Just bought an 09 special edition xj8l vdp. Engine overheated and shut off. Jag dealer says blown engine due to someone putting stop leak into coolant. WTF
I only had car a few weeks from EBayer who had a warranty (but not for stop leak) Anyone with ideas for me other than prayer !!! Guess I will have to buy an
engine ?? What a bummer.....

The AJ-V8 in 4.2 litre guise is a very robust unit, but gets very cross when overheated. Search for a used engine is best approach.
If the engine is replaced, the radiator should also be replaced and the heater core back flushed to remove the leak inhibitor or the replacement engine will suffer the same fate.
