2004 X350 XJR Aircon not working
Hi.
As per title, just bought an XJR, air con not working, where should I start?
Where are the associated fuses?
Might as well start with the simple things and pray...

Check the AC Compressor relay in the engine compartment first.
Thanks for the replies so far guys. Not sure if English isn't your first language or whatever, but I am specifically looking for simple fixes before I start leaving the car in to get freon levels checked or replacing relays etc.
Is there a fuse? Can i jump a low pressure switch to test the system momentarily?

You purchased the wrong car if you think simple fixes will work?
You need to start with checking the high and low pressures. That is the correct way. Otherwise your just throwing parts at it and that's just too expensive.
Unless you can DIY the repairs a used Jaguar will be a VERY costly purchase!!
They are complicated and the forum has a lot of great information to help you fix it if you can DIY.

What I'm saying is why would I leave the car into a garage to get freon levels checked instead of trying a few simple methods first?
Instead of simply saying "Check fuse 14" or telling me where to find the low pressure switch or whatever, I seem to be being treated like either an idiot, or someone with way too much spare money lying around. I genuinely don't understand it.

You had already good advices provided.
If the relay is out, the fuse replacement has no meaning.
And if freon is low, the internal safety systems will not allow you to start the compressor.

You really do need to LISTEN, to what others have posted, trying to help you.
Instead of projecting your negative attitude, onto others
Quit whining and get busy already
These are rather complicated, pieces of high end equipment.
Just not a lot, of fast, easy, fixes available

The best place to start is to download the Service Manual for your car. You can do this from the "Stickies" above. Then go to Section 4 Electrical, 412-03A Air Conditioning on p94 of 860. From there on you will find what you need to trouble shoot your issue.
Dude; You can purchase an inexpensive recharge kit at your auto supply store. They consist of a hose and valve and often a gauge plus a car or two of freon. Follow instructions. Easy plug on gauge will show if you have enough pressure to activate compressor. If no pressure its time to look for leaks, but that will require charging system. and leak testing either with dye or leak sniffer tool. Please excuse my improper English.

I falsely thought people on here would be helpful and friendly. I now see that you are all just a bunch of Yankee Doodle spastics. No wonder literally the entire world hates you ****ing ****s.
This attitude is what got you Brits kicked out of our country.
Quit bitching, stop projecting your negative attitude, & get busy.
More than enough people willing to help you, when get your head out of your ***.

I am french, living in Belgium, and I find this forum is the most active and helpful worldwide for any X350 owner (won't talk of other subforums).
If you are not satisfied and Brit there are other Jaguar fora, make your shopping elsewhere.
