FWIW, my '04 XJ8 just turned 160K miles. At about 130K, I replaced F/R brake rotors and pads, and shortly thereafter I had to pay homage to the Air Suspension gods (about $1400). At that point, I was regretting having kept the car for so long, but since such time its been running fine...no problems.

I'm the original owner and I dutifully change oil+filter each 7500 miles...the engine still runs sweet and delivers 30-31 mpg on trips.
