2004 XJR bypass/blow off valve problem
Hello All!!! So i recently tackled replacing the coolant return hose, you know the pesky one under the supercharger. I followed this thread..
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-repair-38911/
It's pretty much the same as my car. I have a few tips i am going to add in a new thread when i'm 100% finished.
But my problem now is the blow off/bypass valve. I have the car all put together and when the car warms up the valve opens and makes a constant screeching sound? i didn't take it apart. just took 1 bolt off so i can remove whole unit form throttle body mounting plate.
the "problem" piece is the part my finger is touching. Sorry if i don't know the proper name. I am doing this for my mom.
Since I have your attention... My check engine light is now on. Can i reset this? I tried leaving batt disconnected for 2 days.

Bumpity bump... and as The Dude says "New S### has come to light"
The cars "restricted performance" light came on. I read threads and the one concensus was to OBD it, get codes then clear it and see if it comes back. Check, check, and check... As of now restricted performance light is off. but check engine is on. codes i got were P0171, P0405 and P0174. So with recommendations from the forum in other threads i looked for obvious leaks (thats all i'm skilled enough to look for) and right away i see my engine airfilter box is broken.
I think I'm just gonna have my mom take it to a jag service shop in our area. I've been going at this car for so long now =(
Thank you guys for all your help. I know i'll be back when it's time for brakes!!!

Sorry Michael, air leaks are always threatening these cars, I've gotten really good at locating them with a live data stream of the short term fuel trims and a can of MAF cleaner. at my disposal. The trims jump to double digits immediately in response to a little MAF getting sucked into a broken line or ill-sealed gasket.
