Default 2004 XJR Cracked Wheel

My XJR took a break for the Thanksgiving holiday since I did not have to take it to work. When I pulled it out of the garage to give her a bath and prep her for next week, the rear right tire was *totally* flat. I took the wheel off, aired it up and dunked it in a pool of water to see what the hell was up. I was expecting a screw, nail etc. However, the diagnosis was more dire than that: It leaks from what looks to be a crack on the wheel.

I do not drive this car hard at all, commuter really on toll ways. The question is: Is this atypical or have other folks seen this issue?

I know the spare wheel has some serious rash and not too presentable but I may have to swap the tires between the two wheels.

Typical location for a dent or a crack - inner side where there is no support from spokes. I don't know if that crack can be welded-up, (it probably can), but if it were me, I'd be looking for another wheel on eBay.

I have had two of these cracks repaired on my 2008 XJR. Find a very reputable welding shop that is experienced in heliarcing and the repair will be stronger than the rest of the wheel.

A former racing friend of mine owns Wheels America out of Dallas. They do pickups all over the state and get it back the next day. Highly recommend.

One of my 20" Callisto's was welded in its former life.
That's why I now use 255/40 R20 tyres now instead of the 255/35 R20 standard size.
No issues since then

I had a Sepang welded a couple of years ago, as mentioned above, find a reputable company and it will be safely done

I have a leaky Sepang, but it's due to the chrome flaking off at the bead. I got a quote to have all 4 refinished for $1800. Ouch.

I got a repair estimate for $155.00. For now, I put the tire on the spare rim, which is identical to the others. My current set of tires have had their lifespan almost exhausted. I shall use my spare set of Sepangs with new tires.
