2005 XJ8L Engine Swap?
I was recently given some bad news from a repair shop about my 2005 XJ8L. It has been missing on multiple cylinders. I thought it was a wiring issue (maybe a new harness to the injectors?). They stated that it has low compression on several of the cylinders and that it would either need a rebuild or a motor swapped in. Of course the bill for them to do a OE motor swap starts at $10k, more for them to rebuild it.
So my question to this group is:
-Has anyone swapped a different motor and trans into one of these cars (LS swap)? I know there are kits for doing this on the older Jaguars, but I don't see anything for the more modern X350 cars.
TIA

Asap.
Engine swap on these cars should be around 20-30 hours. $1600-$2400 in labor. Also about $1200 for a used engine to around $2k-$3k for a rebuilt. This is in USD.
