Default 2006 XJ8 Alpine audio problems

First time posting after purchasing my 2006 XJ8. I already have 2004 X type sport 3.0. They both have the same stereo, alpine upgrade. However the XJ8 stereo is so much quieter than the x type. I was shocked and disappointed. I think it may have to do with the stock Sirius integration. It is louder when CDs are played but sounds terrible compared to the x type. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated, thanks all

Default Check the individual speakers

The Alpine speakers used are really CHEAP. They are very lightweight.
The speakers may be damaged.

Thank you, I know the 2 front speakers are blown, but the others just sound muted.. I may just have to pull the head unit...

I replaced mine with AD Designs 63-3000 component speakers. the two subs "6 1/2" are anemic too.
plays fine with new speakers.

Mugata, I don't know if they do it on the X types, but the door speakers are a known issue on the alpines.

I complained on the 'loudness' of mine (you can search for a thread I started), and found that the door speakers wires on the speakers were all corroded. I just soldered in some jumper wires on them, mucho improvement.

another tip is to turn the dynamic sound (or whatever it's called) to front only. More volume out of the rear/sub.
I bought a good set of speakers thinking mine were blown, think I have a few left.
