2009 XJ Vibration only going uphill
Hi
I have recently purchased a 2009 2.7 Diesel XJ. Love the car but as expected its needed a few jobs.
Before I took delivery I had the gearbox oil and pan/filter changed as it has done 90,000 miles. I also had cambelts and water pump done. A local Jag specialist Sovereign motors in Bristol did the work and I have no reason to doubt they did a good job. However, now the car makes a terrible vibration just like going over a cattle grid when going uphill. I cant recreate the noise on the flat even under hard acceleration. Any ideas? I'm thinking torque converter but want to be sure before going ahead with the expensive replacement.
The engine also seems a bit lumpy at 70mph and smooths out at 75 although this is very minor compared to the vibration going uphill!
