XJ vibration through accelerator peddle

XJ vibration through accelerator peddle
Has anyone heard of a vibration issue with XJs?
I have a 2016 XJ Autobiography.
I noticed this vibration through the peddle at certain speeds, but couldn't quite get a handle on it.
Quite a few trips to the dealers, and talk of it being a wheel balancing issue, and supposedly fixing it, but finally realised that it was actually present at 1200-1300 Revs in all gears, and even at standstill.
Sat in a brand new XJ and revved it to this range, and it was present in this also.
Apparently this makes it a trait of the XJ and not a fixable problem.
Annoys me no end, because I know its there, but seemingly nothing anyone can do, including Jaguar, who have closed the case.
Anyone any ideas please.
Dave

I cant recall noticing this before. There's no direct connection between the accelerator pedal and the engine.
I don't think that wheel balancing is going to fix that - if anything wheel balancing will show up in the steering wheel.
The dealer you took it to, did they even bother to put it on the hoist and have a look underneath, maybe something connected to the engine is touching the body? Or did they check the pedal itself to make sure it was secure?
I hope they didn't make you pay for the wheel balance when it didn't fix the issue.... What did the staff tell you at the dealer?

Having driven a 2017 diesel a few weeks ago as a dealer courtesy car, I can't say I found any vibration like this. Although you don't say what engine type is in the car, I would say it is probably due to the car having a diesel engine. As I understand it, the diesel cars have electronically controlled engine mounts to manage vibration, so maybe this is the area to investigate.
I may be wrong, of course !

I'm not really mechanically minded, I just know what I can feel, and I have been told that the accelerator peddle isn't connected mechanically, so not sure what it can be. The remedies tried by 2no dealers were all under Jaguars warrenty so not an issue, but I would rather it was fixable, all the same.
The engine is the V6 3.0l Diesel.
I am dissapointed that Jaguar don't find it to be an issue, as if it were every car, then it would surely be a possible major problem.

The pedal vibration is very real. I have a 2008 XK convertible with the issue. The vibration occurs both moving and stationary in either neutral or park. Hence, this is not a wheel related issue.
See: Malt 5/8/17 who states that his mechanic diagnosed it as "a software issue with the (transmission) torque converter. The solution was to reload the software for the module. The fix has made it almost go away". He states the problem does not throw any codes.
Not sure what Malt "module" is referring to but I'm looking into the problem further for my own fix. I will let the Forum know what I come up with.

With AC compressor on or off, still the vibration.
New observation: the vibration at 1,400 rpm is present only if the engine is in power throttle. Explanation - I maintained 1,400 rpm using the 'cruise control' on level ground. The pedal vibration ceased when I came upon a decline in the road terrain, e.g., when the car was coasting and the engine was not powering the forward motion. As I approached an incline in the terrain the engine began powering again and the vibration returned.
If anyone can connect the dots please let me know!
My mechanic speculated it might be a worn engine mount.

My 2008 4.2 Stype - Same Thing
I came to this forum because I am eyeing a 2012 XJR and wanted to investigate things I should look for. I have a 2008 Stype 4.2 and have started this same discussion there. It is exactly the same issue, 1200 -1400 RPM and you feel it through the gas pedal when kind of feathering the pedal. All the same suggeztions but it is not my AC and the motormounts seem ok. I also have a 2004 XK8 with the same powertrain and don't have the vibration.
