Default ABS module..

Where do I find the ABS module on a 2000 xj8. That anoying light stays on in my dash. I have checked the wheel sensors at the plug. If the module is the large flat black thing the plug goes into can I remove it without getting brake fluid everywhere? How can I test it to be sure that is what my problem is.My mechanic says it might be the problem but I hate to keep throwing money at his guesses.

This link to my page for ABS Repair is for a 1999 xk8 however the pattern for testing will help narrow the problem down

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Hope this helps.

You are in the wrong section of the forum.
You need to post this in the X308 forum to get a better response from members.

I started after 9:30 and now it is 10:30. The module is clamped up waiting for the glue and silicone to cure. I had more problem finding the right tools and trying to get the bottom 2 screws out than anything else. On my 200o xj8 it was even easier to get the module past the brake lines becuase they could bend out of the way easily. The actual problem was just as described in the repair instructions. Sometimes ya get lucky.
