Default After market shift knob

I found this shift knob on eBay and while it was a little pricey at $130 shipped, I’m really happy with the quality, match and upgrade.

from the ad it appeared that the darker tan leather would match the upper interior trim of my car and I am pleased to say that once I got the knob, the color match is near perfect

May I ask how you were able to remove the original knob? Because I have a replacement for mine but I cannot for the life of me get the old one off.

Damn that looks really nice! I would prefer this one over any of the wooden ones I've seen.

I couldn't remove mine without destroying it. I tried really hard.

My original knob twisted off relatively easily so maybe I got lucky.

There is a small chrome piece underneath that appears to function as a jamnut and that piece has has several small detents around it seeming to allow for "grabbing" it with a tool, maybe a set of needle nose pliers with bent tips or something handmade.

I can say that even if you had to destroy the original using channel locks would almost certainly get it off.

I got it off! I was able to get the jam nut loosened by sticking a punch into one of the divots and striking the punch with a hammer, once it was loose, it was easy to unscrew the knob. And the new one looks great!

Anyone else received these? It appears that they are 40% off so I’m strongly considering pulling the trigger on them. They look fantastic.
