Default Air box assembly is broken

Hi All,

keep posting on to the wrong forum...

The lid of my 2008 XJ8L Air box assembly is broken, does anyone know if 2008 model sharing the same part of the Air Box assembly from yrs 2004-2007? Thinking about to find a used one before replace with the new one.

also anyone know how to remove the MAF connector, try to push the center tab, and pull it out without any success. any idea?

I use the Eposy glue to glue both of the latch back this morning, and waiting to let it cure and try it out later..... 5 hrs later, the latch didn't hold and came off...it seem like the whole assembly might need to be replaced...

Any help is appreciated !!

I believe the only difference is by model, not year, i.e. the naturally aspirated vs the supercharged. Also, the sensor comes right off as soon as you remove the two screws. Done it myself.

Thank for the reply and help.

if I can't find the used one on ebay, or locate a friend in UK, then I will get it in US for $195 for the part and try to replace it myself....

won't like to share what I did for the Air Box assembly.

bought it from Daudin Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com

for $158.84, it took me 1.5 hrs to replace the whole thing, the hardest part is try to pull the Air Inlet Tube out off the old box, the space is just not there, the whole Inlet Tube need to be unscrew take it out with the whole Air Box Assembly, then unplug the old and put the new in.

Anyhow. it is done. save me some $$$, the dealer is charging $500 for it..
