Question can a ford key be cut and programed for my 04 xjr

I lost the switch blade key to my car, was my only key. I've ordered replacement blank key and remote(switch blade key with buttons) and since I will need 2nd key for programing and as a spare, I found on line site which sells plane chip/radio key not switchblade or remote type, but it has ford engraved on it.The price was $13w s/h vs dealer $60 made it an easy choice, my question is has anyone tried or know if the website is correct in saying it will work? FYI i have a 98 vdp and the mechanical part of the key is different from my xjr and I checked the ford key is same design as my xjr key.(my windows were down and I was able to lock and raise my windows with the blank ford key, guess i will have to pay to unlock it when I tow it to the dealer for programing and cutting but better than it getting wet last night).

Exclamation yes we can!

for those of you that want a cheap extra key, this did in fact work on my 2004 xjr. You can use a ford smart key as a replacement(I assume it was ment to fit a lincoln). I purchased the key at a popular online auction site for $10 plus $3 s/h and got the key cut and programed at local jag dealer(i ground off the ford logo before i took it in).
