Default Air suspension bench test

I do not have any air suspension problem yet. I am stashing parts and tools to resolve this issue quickly without down time if it arrives one day.

I got two rear shocks used and wanted to perform a bench test by hooking up to an air compressor at a set pressure and see any leak after 24 hours.

Please help to determine what fittings do i need to connect the air struct to and airline. The rear shocks' air attachment have a female thread.

thanks

I'm in the same boat! I'll let you know if I figure it out. I found a thread from another user who built a test device with push type fittings but it would require removing the ferule from the male side of the on-car line in order to deliver pressure to the test device (he doesn't have it setup to hook up to a compressor...his bench test uses the compressor on board.) In any event he has a threaded male fitting on his device but he has it coated with teflon tape implying that it is an interference fit while the factory fitting uses straight threads and an o-ring.

If you still have the connectors that came with the shocks you can fit the original 4 mm air line and connect a 4 mm push lock fitting to it. No need to find different fittings that way.

I built a couple of test rigs using 1/8" NPT nipples threaded into the check valves at the top of the struts. I have the fronts pressurized right now 12+ hours... just waiting to see if either of them leak down.

Jaja you guys are clever. We used a check valve in line with a line to test our customers when it has one of those pain in the *** to find leaks. But since the Arnott has brought the price of that job down I just recommend changing the two front ones (if one is leaking the other one is coming you know it...)

Here are two links of how to change the struts and the pump:
