Air suspension fault.
That's what I got on start up at the shopping centre. The car, a 2004 XJR, 27.000 kilometers. Nope not cold, temp has not been under 25 Celsius for months, it does not get much below 10 here. Even in winter. So any idea's.?
Surely not the compressor.
Surely not the compressor.
Greetings Heaven,
I take it that you are not from West Virginia. May I ask where you live?
Sorry I don't have any good advice for you, other than to presume a trip to the dealership is in order. It certainly will be hard to believe that a compressor or anything else has worn out with so few miles of service. Would you be kind enough to keep us advised of the diagnosis and repair of your '04's fault? Thank you and good luck.

Down under, in Australia. Will check the Time the compressor stays on, and the fuse, and relay, tomorrow.
PS, thanks for your reply, I am banking heavily on the help, in this Forum, as I have to do the repairs myself, as it is out of warranty.

Update, no problem again, it was a bit cooler today, don't think that would have anything to do with it. Just waiting for the dreaded "air suspension fault" to return, not a good thing, You think, what would happen, halfway into a long trip.Knock's your confidence in the car.
I think jag_genius had said last summer that relay #4 in the left fusebox under the hood is for the air compressor. I found the post and linked to it, but that has evaporated into the ether.
Point is that on hot restart, you should still have plenty of air pressure and no warning. I could see that a hot relay might intermirramtly be failing in this circumstance however, and out current dealer techs have already pointd to relay faults as a common cause to Air Susension warnings. I'd suggest identifying the compressor relay and substitutuing it, with a replacement or with another identical one used for another circuit in your car.

Yep will check on that today. If it's a common type of relay, I can get one from my spare parts bin, if that fixes it, will see if I can get a higher rated one.

I have the same message intermittently showing at the moment and the code indicates that it is a faulty electronic component within the left rear shocker. That explains why the ride height is correct.
It sometimes comes on after about 200 miles but will go out next time I start up.
It will need a new shocker sometime soon though.
