Do you mean the chirp horn or the actual horn that sounds when the alarm is triggered

I meant the actual horn, but actually i could not find any of the 2 sounders shown in wiring diagram.
I have Mitchell on demand but the locator does not show the horn and it says the sounders are in the trunk/ right side, i do not see anything like that in the trunk either.
I have a code logged, and it says alarm horn shorted.

I think the one in the boot is the chirp that you hear when activating the alarm but that might be behind the wheel arch cover the main sounder is the horns behind the front bumper mine has the same fault code but everything seems to work ok not sure if these cars have a back up battery in the system one of the techs on here will probably know

I had mine replaced. It was in the trunk. The rear seat and package deck had to come out to get to it. Part was cheap. Labor cost plenty.

2005 jaguar xj8l. this started with when I turn the key off I have a rapid beep. I checked codes and found b2496 security horn circuit shorted to ground. Not really sure where to start I did see the posts about horns being under and behind back seat was wondering if anybody knows where to start checking the wiring to it thanks

The normal horn on x350 is near the air suspension compressor, in frot of the left front tyre behind bumper and wheel well liner. have not seen any other.
on x358 diesel the alarm horn is right in the front below tray
the horn for the rear parking sensors (buzzer) is below the parcel shelf right behind the right headrest
