Dumb question: On my 2004 XJ8, the black plastic piece that the flashing red alarm LED sits in is broken. It's the snap in cover directly below the front window. A couple of the locking tabs broke off and now it won't sit flat and is annoying. What is that part called? I've tried several descriptive searches and come up with nothing. Hoping to find one on EBay or someone parting out a wreck. Any name or part number would be a great help. Thanks.

 

The unit is called --> Passive anti-theft system (PATS) LED

(according to the workshop manual)

However, this didn't seem to help googling to find a part.

I'd maybe call up a breakers yard that has an XJ in and describe the part you want, or send them a pic of yours

 

Thanks, thats what I needed was an official name for the unit. I like the idea of a photo for the junk yard, that should probably work best.
