Lightbulb Approach and Puddle lights not working

Hi,

Anyone had any issue with the approach lights not working when you press the remote, or the puddle lights not working when unlocking. Tested in dark, nothing comes on?

Thanks, yes possibly. I've taken out the puddle lights, not looking too promising. £29.00 each to replace! That doesn't explain why the headlights don't come on when you press the button on the remote. That might be relay switch.

You've tested in the dark, so the ambient light sensor should be happy. Assuming it hasn't gone bad. Rare, but possible. One was to confirm would be if the headlamps come on when it's dark and the master switch is set to auto.

Have you tried pressing the unlock button on the fob a second time to see if the puddle light will come on then? Oddly enough that's happened to me several times.
The puddle lights are easy enough to remove and check for power. If power is present the bulb(s) are bad. Pricey to replace with oem, but this is a good opportunity to upgrade to LEDs. ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...lights-214747/ )

I'm not sure on the approach lights.. we don't have them here as standard in the States. When they do function, do they activate the small park lights in the high beam housings, or the high beams themselves?

On mine it has to be really dark for them to come on when I unlock. A second press on the fob overrides it and they come on. I don't think that the light stalk in auto has anything to do with it, but I'll check .
