Default Arnott Conversion clunking

After converting my suspension over to coils, I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the ride quality. However, I noticed while going over small pot holes, or at times, turning the wheel all the way at low speeds, I hear a clunking sound underneath the front end of the car. Has anyone else experienced this? Perhaps it is just yet another issue, like bushings?

Sounds like a sway bar or other bushings issue. You could also recheck the torque on all the shock bolts (4 shock tower bolts and 1 connecting to the lower arm).

+1 on XJ8JR's suggestions, especially the stabilizer bar links. But also the upper control arm ball joint that must be disconnected while doing the conversion.

I just did another conversion last week, and the torque for the front lower shock bolt is 129 ft. lbs. and for the front air spring to body upper retaining nuts it is 18 ft. lbs. The torque for the stabilizer bar link nuts and bolt is 52 ft. lbs., and the upper control arm ball joint retaining nut is 66 ft. lbs.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the feedback. I'm due for a front end allignment, I'll have the guys look at those things. It really pays to just spend the few extra bucks and have a Jag specialist fix these things...
