Default Auto windscreen Wipers

Ive i only had my XJ8 for 5 months and overall it's pretty good but there are a lot of niggles that I find really annoying.

One of the main ones is the sensitivity of the auto windscreen wipers. I canbe doing 30mph with just a drizzle and the wipers are going mad at full speed.

Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity?

Thanks

Not that I have found. I had a Mercedes E Class with the same problem. In my opinion this is a technology that is a little ahead of its time. I don't think any of the manufactures make a system that really senses rain well and controls the wipers to the correct speed.

I have to say they are not perfect, but are useful at times. I find that if one passes through a really heavy shower, they will come on at the fast speed, and this continues for some minutes after the rain stops. If I get annoyed, I just switch to manual and back. I think vehicle speed is also factored in too.

So, not perfect.

If it is really a PITA replacing the windscreen sensor might cure it?
