I have a 2005 xj8 vanden plas with the alpine touch screen nav. I can pair my phone and make and receive calls hearing them over the stereo but the people I am talking to can not hear me. Bad mic or connection fault? Old software? Module need an update? Any ideas would be a great help. I Just purchased the car and would love to get this working correctly.

 

Missing microphone? If you don't have Jaguar Voice fitted, there is a passtrough plug that needs to be put in the empty connector otherwise the mic is not connected to the phone module.

 

Places I can look to know weather I do or not or where it should be plugged in?

 

Press the voice button on the wheel, if the driver info display says "Voice not fitted" you don't have the voice module. The module is in the trunk in the stack where the CD changer is. You will have to remove the trim to get to it. There should be an empty connector about 20 pins in 2 rows.
