Default Brass valve fitting on top of shock...

Does anyone know how to get this off? I don't the brass fitting on the air line, but the fitting on the shock that the airline plugs into. I bought a used pair of arnott shocks but one of them is missing this piece. I want to transfer the piece from my old shock to the new one but I'm at a loss of how to actually remove it. Any helps or tips would be so appreciated. Thanks

Hey I was asking the same question when working on my air suspension, couldn't figure out what tool fits into those 2 notches on the sides of the valve.
I ended up using some pliers to loosen & tighten it. Worked just fine

You could bend the tips of some circlip pliers to fit the small slots?

I ended up hammering a small torx screwdriver sideways into one of the slots, which finally unfroze it. A terrific blast of air released as I unscrewed it. The piece fit perfectly on the new shock and screwed in nice and tight.

I had been dealing with terrible ride quality and horrible rattling for quite a while now, but it looks like these new shocks have cured all that. We'll have to wait until winter to see if the cold weather issues have been solved. This model will never ride like the old school xj's, but now it feels 95% as good as new. Upper control arm bushings are shot on both sides. Once those are done, ride quality should be 100%. Thanks everyone for making this forum such a wonderful resource.
