Default Can't get glove box out

So I followed the instructions and removed all the necessary bolts and screws to get the entire assembly out. However, it seems unwilling to completely detach itself from the trim. It hangs on the left side and seems like it is still attached to something.

Is there a technique for removing this thing? Did I miss something in the disassembly?

I have a 2005 Super V8.

.

If it moves vertically up/down ~2/3" then it could be the light unit on the LHS - this protrudes to the lhs of the box. Alternatively if you have little up/down movement make sure the attachment struts, they come in at an angle and secure to the glove box bottom metal hinge/bracket, you can move them; the LHS move inboard and RHS outboard which gives the glove box room to move. The glovebox metal hinge/bracket needs to be move toward the bulkhead and then dropped down to get the box out.

Keep at it eventually iit comes out.

Thanks for the response! I suspect it is the light unit. Does that pop out by pushing it? Or do you have to reach around somehow and unplug it? The bolts are definitely out.

Have a look at this post. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...er-quit-62390/

Attachment #6 (blower quit glove box 6.jpg)shows the glove box lamp elec connector (lower lhs). Remove the lamps. The box protrudes from the lhs of the glove box and is heat staked in place. I don't recommend you remove it but maneuver the whole glove box out from the dash knowing this light box is there.

I know I struggled with mine but it eventually comes out.

Default Can't get gl9ve box out.

Same thing here. Glove box moves slightly like all the bolts and screws are out. The rhs electrical connector is disconnected to vig lighter like socket. The LH lS seems free but RHS seems less free. Haven't unplugged rear electric connector yet. The undo round button on rhs has a catch in glove box on X350.

Told should drop about 2/3 if ab inch ar bottom swivel hinge and come out but it doesn't AM I missing some thing.

Would like to get glove box out to see and put back ecu having disconnected battery abd disconnected ecu 2 harness connectors via renoving bulkhead pollen box out.

Reason for taking ecu out was to investigate why ecu is not talking to dsc.

On ecu comms issue and multi odd dash error messages I think I will check earth points again, this time the battery bo9t earth point as I think this one was weak on aluminum body and could snap off. Question is can I drill a hole in boot rhs to put a steel not in place as a alternative battery earth point by accessing the drilled hole from underneath car?

any ideas of why glove box doesn't come put please. Is it the release rhs side button have I missed a screw even though it appears loose?

Ken

I struggled at two points when pulling the thing out. First was, naturally, the connector, second was something I tried to explain in this post:

If it is hanging on the 12volt socket and your battery is unhooked clip the cable of from behind. It is a bit short by the way. Before installing again install 5 cm extension
