Hi Jaguants,
The used Jagaur I just purchased was well kept and I would like to get long life out of this car. There are so many experienced and knowledgeable people on this site I hope I can get a respondse from some of you on these questions. How do I maintain and be attentive to engine performance? What other parts of the Jag XJ8 2004, should I monitor? What additives if any should I use with engine oil, fuel, type of air filter, etc? Please add any particulars you think are important. This may sound a little **** to some of you but taking care of these minor concerns on a consistent basis can only add to your cars life and make any eventual brakedown less involved and expensive.

No additives are necessary. Just keep regular oil changes, preferably using a synthetic and about once a year run a can of BG-44K through the fuel system. Other regular maintenance as recommended.
