It's been a while since I posted in this forum section, but was curious on something...
Is it easy to convert non-GPS models to the center screen GPS equipped XJ's? Does anyone may an updated touch screen aftermarket? I see them for the XK's.
Been thinking of buying another XJ, but I don't like the look of the non GPS cars center console. Not so many GPS cars are ever for sale. Why Jag did not make that standard is beyond me.
I did that a few months ago. I'll take some pictures today and show you how it looks like. I even have some custom details on the center console leather. My vehicle Originally was a NO Touch Screen system.
I didn't look at the one for the XJ8 closely, but it should be capable of bluetooth and streaming. There are USB adaptors and available apps that allow for the use of Apple carplay and Android auto, which is what we use in our Lexus. You just have to make sure that it is possible with any unit you decide on. @dennis black did a writeup on this forum about one of these and a youtube installation video that you might want to check out.
We also have a USB adaptor for TPMS, which is nice to be able to monitor the tires on screen.
Here are some pictures that I already had on my phone. I still haven't took the pictures that I told you specifically for the Stereo. I'll do it this weekend. But you could have an idea.
I always wanted to have the two tone colors, I love the black and red but as you guys can see my interior was not even close to theses tones. 😆😆😆
