Default changing the clock illumination

hello all. the analog clock onthe dash of my 2004 x350 does not illuminate at night any more. it might have something to do when i whacked the top of the dash once or twice to get the radio to work (don't ask me why i thought that would work). it is located in the middle of the vent panel. does that unscrew or unsnap by itself or do i have to remove entire dash cover like in a series III? or is there another access to it?
thank you in advance, william

You have to remove the center vent which means removing the console, the wood dash covers on both sides etc. not difficult just a bit tedious.

Looks like a Lincoln clock face to me, both Ford products.
Fits into the space very nicely, & the color match looks good.

Just today was explaining to the Lady Wife the OEM clock is among the most reliable of all Jaguar electronics, given they hit perfect time twice every 24 hours.

Same two times every day for the past five years, too!

I did say "reliable'?.

That said, anyone have a line on a drop-in replacement that actually tells the CURRENT time?

??
