Did the coil actually break, or did the rubber boot simply remain stuck to the spark plug? The boot constitutes the lower two-fifths of the coil assembly, and it is very common for it to remain stuck when the coil is removed. From memory, there is a spring inside and the lower electrical terminal that contacts the top spark plug electrode. Usually, you can use a pair of needle-nosed pliers to gently pull the boot up and off of the spark plug, and you can then reassemble the boot, terminal and spring onto the coil.
There is a hose that runs above #7 which at first obstructed the removal of the coil.
At the time I was hesitant to use too much pressure to move the hose.
When I tried to maneuver the coil it broke at a joint midway up the coil.
