Default Check out my air filter

Supposedly the supplying main dealer serviced the car 10 times (and I've spoken to them to confirm it) but when the dyno operator said it was making 377bhp but was a bit rich I thought I'd look at the filter.

What does the panel think? It definitely goes better now and my next post fettle dyno run will happen soon.

Did you take the old filter to the dealer?

Send them the photo with a letter of complaint.

I wonder what else they missed?

What colour are the fluids? Have a look at the cabin filter. See if the screws holding the undertray (for the oil filter, and rear left for the fuel filter) are rusted solid, and buy 6mm stainless replacements.

I've been trying to get hold of the dealer principle but he's not returning my call. I'll write in with photos and to Jag UK too.

Fluids all changed and looked ok to be fair, the pan clips were rusted in place but it looks like someone just broke the thing free leaving them still in the front part, complete!

I've remade the keeps and clips 1" farther along.

Amazing that the car had a (verified) main dealer history.

Actually when I inspected it I should have known the air filter had never been professionally changed because none of the plastic clips were busted off!

I've noticed my Indie likes to undo the centre and rear fixings for the undertray, and let it hang down from the front. I have all new fixings now. The old front spire clips were rusty and about half of them would not undo.

It almost kinda makes a joke about "FUL LSERVICE HISTORY!!"

It isn't necessarily all its cracked up to be.

Take my A6 for example, according to Audi the air filter /fuel filter is good for 40k miles!!!
For the average driver ( god forbid less than average ) that could be anwhere from 2-3 years!!!

Mine has is and has always been changed every year without fail.

Very cheap and simple basic maintenance for peace of mind

My X300XJR6 had a full service history and a extremely well known expensive indie service history as well

We only figured out the problem last year by accident why it always hesitated when you stabbed the throttle one side effect though I replced everything known to man in the search for the fault so its a damn fine car now LOL

The old saying if you want a job done right do it yourself or stand there and watch them
