Default climate control module replacement.

I recently installed a climate control computer module for my Jaguar XJR 2004 because my blower was not putting out any air. this is the second one that I installed. the first one I bought was used and when I plugged it up, the air conditioner did not work so I ordered another used one.. now with this one in place the ac does not come on as well and I'm not getting any cold or hot air to blow. Is this plug and play? Or are there more steps??

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X350 forum. It's a model specific question and members here with the same model will be able to help.

Hi RichReDD,

I don't know if you need to configure the Climate Control Module after an exchange, but it is certainly possible. If so, it would require a dealer-level system such as Jaguar Land Rover System Driven Diagnostics (JLR SDD). If your shop has this system, they can check to see if there is an option for configuring the CCM.

Regarding the "transistor relay for the fan" that you installed, was it the Blower Control Module (BCM) mounted in the air duct behind the glove box? That seems to be the most common cause of loss of fan operation. The thread below shows how the module can be rebuilt at little cost:

Hopefully other members will have additional thoughts.

Cheers,

Don

Very unusual to hear of an CC Module failing, it's normally the fan control module above the fan. I'd go so far as to say I have never read a post here on the CC module failing.

I think you need the JLR SDD diag for the CCM. I do not know your car, but I had to do it on my Freelander 2 when I repaced my CCM.
