Default Coil packs (UK)

hey guys,

i am looking to change out all of my coil packs , I have a 2006 xjr and I am not sure if it has the 2 pin or 4 pin coil pack , I am away with work and looking to purchase them for my return...

i have seen a pack of 8 from lucus for £255 , was wondering if anybody has any feedback for these?
Or can anybody give me any recommendations?

Cheers

dave

I expect 4-pin but just take one out and look
Don't buy cheap without expecting to regret it.
I would NOT change them unless you have faults as you may take a good one out and put in a worse one.

The problem is I am working away at the moment so can’t really check. I was hoping to get them ordered so they would be at home for my coming back 😁

There seems to be a massive choice and ranging in price massively , I have seen some lucus ones at £255 for 8 which is a good reputable brand..
do you know of any that are of good quaility and where to get them?

Cheers
Dave

We are lucky in the US there are sources of OEM for 32.00 each. Rock Auto has Delphi, Airtex/Wells, Standard Motor Products, United Motor Products for this price range. I think all are premium.

The simple answer is STOP planning to do this at all.

Change them as they fail - its pretty noticable when one is gone... And the ecu will tell you which one it is.

Try to buy from pretty much any of the reputable mfg,s as mentioned myself, we truly blessed with a wide assortment of choices in parts here. Depreciation, with Fords heavy use of parts from their parts bin, are the two biggest reasons i can think of being able to have such a car. Plus the HORRIBLE record of the Lucas ignitions, & their electronics of old, still resonates in many peoples mind!!! Mine as well, till i learned about the use of aluminum, & Fords take over, so they could learn how to build a truck out of it like Land Rover has for over 50 years, pretty smart way to do things.
