Default CONFIG F in and XJR?

I've searched and found references to several other Config letters, but no F.

Got this today after running diagnostics on my car. Hmmm.

Seems to run fine, but for the persistent Check Engine lamp.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

The CONFIG message means that a module has lost its programming and needs to be reflashed. (you saw this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...solved-102871/ ?)

Not sure which module F is referring to though...

I'd scanned that thread and was hoping a reprogramming might not be required. Oh well.

Now to play with the JLR/SDD to figure out why reprogramming is not an option available to me at the moment. Seems it thinks it's out of date and needs an update.

Thanks again.

Unless it actually IS an "E" and the display is out on the bottom edge!
Seriously though - not sure how he is going to determine what module needs reflash.

Got some GONFIG X message one day. Just reconnected the battery and all gone. No wait or any African instrument dancing with.

Default Solved. GECM lost its programming

Config F actually refers to the Front Electrical Control Module but it is programmed and configured as part of the General Electrical Control Module. This can be done with SDD/JLR software from the diagnosis section AFTER you have run a full vehicle scan. Select program existing general module, it'll take about 5 nail biting minutes and then it'll ask if you'd like to program your module, say yes, select automatic and bite your nails some more. All done. My car had quit any window, sunroof, lighting or anything until I did this.
I figure the module may be on it's way out but at least the car is operational until I get one from eBay..
