Hi All,

I feel like I'm a strong contender to the weekend warrior Darwin Award. I changed my upper control arm on a x350 XJ8, it went well and then I started to put it back again. I did not consider the orientation of the air shock (still original, worked well until now) and then went on with tightening the lower T60 bolt. It was a bit difficult at the beginning, but then it got easy and now it just rotates and doesnt go in or out.
So right now I have a wrongly oriented shock "mounted" with no air,, and probably the T60 bolt is cross-threaded. Please help, looking for any possible suggestions how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.

Is this for the front or rear shock unit ?
Did you remove the shock completely ?
Did you rotate the bottom of the shock relative to the upper part ?

Hi , thanks for asking. It was a front shock. I did remove and changed the upper control arm, LH. I was stupid enough that I placed the shock rotated 180 degrees, bottom and upper part. I took a photo, as you see the nut is now at the entrance, rather then at the exit.

I tried PB blaster, impact wrech, tapping and twisting, to get the nut out and it wouldn't move. Last resort is to drill it? I consider repairing the threads then and use it to get to a parts store and get a new bolt, unless there is something matching the size.

Thanks a lot for any help...
