I've owned my 2008 XJ for 8 months and it has never come on before. The car has 9,600 miles currently. The car sat for 2 weeks and on Saturday the "cruise control unavailable" displayed upon starting along with the yellow warning light.

I shut the car off, waited for a few minutes and restarted the car. Warning light and message was gone. I drove the car all weekend, used the cruise control and it worked perfectly. The warning has never displayed again.

Any thoughts, recommendations, or similar experiences?

This happened a couple months on my 06. Hopefully someone on here has some insight.

See my other thread on similar issues. Not exactly the same error, but similar symptoms, ie happens after car has been sitting for a while. I would change your battery....

Especially with such low mileage...age is not the only battery killer!
