Cruise not available/ ABS? 2004 XJR
I have the "Cruise Not Available" warning light on. No ABS faults. I have heard that the ABS controller also interacts with the adaptive cruise control. Has anyone had these issues? I am considering removing, cleaning and reconnecting the ABS connector. Just a bit concerned about pulling hard on the connector and causing damage.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My cruise module on my 2004 Super v8 packed up a couple of years ago, they are a very expensive item, somewhere around £1500 new. I did try a used module, fitted by my local main dealer, but sadly as much as they tried they could not get the module to "integrate/pair to the car. They did extensive test runs and I eventually told them that we needed to draw a line under it as the hours were adding up .
Really worth getting it diagnosed properly .
I could do without the cruise but it annoys me having the message constantly on the dashboard.
I have been told that it is possible to have the module written out of the car's software and apparently the standard cruise will then work ok.
Will be interested to see how you get on .

An air leak at the vacuum break booster can trigger this as well. There is a hose that runs to the throttle body elbow which is connected with a collar. The plastic collar that holds the hose can crack. Also, there's a rubber seal within the brass fitting at the throttle body that can deteriorate as mine did.
ABS sensors trigger this as well but I think you would an ABS fault at the dash.
I would pull the plastic cover off the radar and check for stick leaves or gunk which can also cause this.
