Dashboard Gauges
A few days ago, all the dashboard gauges in my 1989 Daimler malfunctioned. Two went to Zero while others are stuck on the far right of the dial. The battery, oil pressure and temperature icons remain lit but the trip computer does not nor does it display any data. The car seems to be running just fine. Based on threads posted on the forum, I was hoping that it was simply a trip computer fuse issue but the fuse seems fine. Regarding location of the fuse, the car was originally sold in Holland and the Handbook is in Dutch! However, the left side fuse cover is in English and shows the location as B3 (5amp). Strangely my '93 Sovereign's Handbook sites it at B5 (10amp). But then, we are talking about Jaguars. The XJ6 CD manual also indicates that it is at B3 so I guess that must be the right location.
The car starts normally and the gauges jiggle a little bit but don't go back to where they should be. All the usual icons light up and extinguish within a few seconds, except for those mentioned above. I fear that the other solutions suggested in threads posted to the Forum are probably beyond my technical ability and I shall have to rely on my mechanic here in rural France. That being so, I would really appreciate suggestions -- in the simplest form possible -- as to how he should proceed.
The generosity of Forum members have, in the past, helped me enormously in keeping my cars on the road and I am optimistic that they will again come to my aid. So, in anticipation, many thanks.

Please add further details on your 1989 Daimler. Is it a Daimler Double Six (XJ Series III 12 cylinder) or a Daimler Sovereign (XJ40 six cylinder)? I'll then move your question to the correct model forum.
