Weather striping for doors
the rubber weather striping on the front and rear door has crumbled at the bottom. Only on the driver’s side.
Is there a cheaper source than dealer?

what I am looking for is the soft black rubber door seals that are attached to the body. Weatherstripping.
The rubber is only bad at the bottom and only on drivers side. Passenger side is holding up. The rubber on the doors is okay.
It was crumbing when car was purchased three years ago. By using several rubber rejuvenator products it is still the same.
But since all the other issues are fixed right now I thought is a good time to fix this.

Please tell us what car you have to make sure the answer below is correct.
You've posted in the X350 model series forum so your car should be one of these built between 2003-2009. AFAIK Jaguar are the only source for these seals on these cars either at a dealer, or sold via an internet Jaguar specialist.

I'm thinking the heat of Houston has made these seals deteriorate quicker than they do here in England, as mine are in vg condition. On my last car they were also OK except there was a tear at the bottom of the front passenger door seal that I had to glue-up
it is only deteriorated at the bottom of the driver side doors. Paint and interior are not faded on any side.
I suspected it sat where the afternoon sun cooked it. But should get the top also.
When I first saw the boots on the ball joints and other rubber suspension I wondered if car had been soaked in gasoline. The lower seals look like the ball joint boots.

I had the same issue. What I did was remove the plastic trim strip on the bottom (floor board) and then removed the entire seal. I placed the damaged seal sections under the trim strip, coated it with some sealant, let it dry and then installed plastic protective cover. Basically I just moved the damage section to where it didn't matter as it is covered with the trim. As the joint has moved - I carefully used the same sealant to seal the joint.
