Default Denso DVD problem

Good Afternoon, All

Not really. After following various threads here, I accepted that the most recent possible update for my '04 Nav system would be the 2012 Denso NavTek DVD. I purchased a used one on line, and it arrived today. It looks very legit/OEM, it even came in a JAG NavSystem case, but when I load it into my reader, the screen says "Reading DVD Please wait...." And, Boy, have I waited. Over an hour, and no amount of re-loading, turning the system on and off, turning the car off, etc. gets me past the "Reading....." screen. When I re-load my old '04 DVD, it loads within seconds, and begins to display accurate position info.

Have I been snookered, or am \I missing something?

Denso# 464110-9250

Thats 2011 -2012 which is what I understand is the last available.

The second DVD on your picture is for XK series jags, likely incompatible with XJs

Thanks to both of you: Jackra_1, I think I'll just use my NavScreen as a convenient place to stick the suction cup mount for my Garmin. Just curious, veffremov, what clued you in on the XK connection? I don't see that mentioned anywhere on the disc. Do you need to speak fluent Jag/Denso part # to spot the difference? I'm not even going to ask why an XJ would have a different system than an XK.

I think I'll have that scotch now.

The 6w83 part number prefix is for XK and XKR, XJs(x350) use 2w93 or 7w93 for the 2008 x358, sometimes 2R83(S-type) or 1x43(x-type) parts are shared with the XJ.

An to your not asked question, the XJs and XK have very different infotainment systems, they never shared a single component to my knowledge.

And if you do get the correct updated disc for your XJ, it does a long time to load the first time.

Thanks, jackra-1. That's how I read it, but considering how I misread it originally, ||I thought I'd ask.
