Difference between XJ and XJ8

Hello,

I am a new member looking at buying my first Jag. What is the main difference between the 04 XJ and the XJ8?

these are totally different cars. Its like comparing a 3 series to a 7 series BMW, C class to S class Mercedes, A4 to A8 Audi etc.

Id of course pick the XJ
