Default doomlights rear stay on all the time

Hi Jaguars.

I have a problem with the doom lights at the rear above on my x350 2003. Now they stay on all the time.. All was well but when i changed the bulbs it did not work anymore. also the reading lights. the front console i replaced the middle lamp and that works as it should be. what could it be?

thx in advance,

yoan

I think you may be doomed!

But jokes aside, did you replace them with LED's? I ask, because I (stupidly) replaced all mine with LED's and the main dome light in the overhead binnacle stays on dimly all the time (well, at least until my car 'goes to sleep')? Something to do with it's 'dimming' ability allowing a tiny voltage to remain?
My advice (for what it is worth) to anyone considering replacing interior bulbs with LED'S, don't bother!

regarding LEDs; trick is to use the old-fashioned polarized version (the type that require you to put them in correctly oriented + and - ). The more recent non-polarized version (the ones advertised as being used without having to know +/- position) have a tendency to confuse the FETs in the body control modules used in this vintage Jaguar, and the parasitic draw results in the very dim but noticeable illumination even when off. I've noted the same issue on both interior and exterior lights. Having converted 100% to LED, I have the luxury of having lots of spares to experiment with. I suggest the Super Bright LED online store.
