Sorry for pulling up an old post, but I figured it was better than starting a new one. My Jag hasn't been driven much the past couple months, due to a busy work schedule. I just got it inspected 2 days ago, so I decided to take it out for a drive today. When backing up, I notice that only the right side mirror dipped. Is this correct? I swear that both mirrors dipped previously.

It has been sitting in the garage, so it hasn't been exposed to the elements. I may pop the mirror glass out, and take a look inside.

Thanks!

Only the passenger side dips when selecting reverse.

Wow, thank you for the speedy response!! Glad to hear it is just my fuzzy memory, and not an issue with the car. Thanks again!

No, both sides can be configured to dip (or not dip independently) depending on your settings. Needs the VCM to reprogramme it though.

2004 jaguar x350 how can I turn off driver mirror auto dip function? Or retain the setting I want?

I had trouble with the right side mirror on my 2005 Jaguar XJ8L continually dipping as I drove down the road a few years back. In fact, I had to keep moving the mirror back in position. Actually, all that I had to do to fix the problem was to spray some Radio Shack Cleaner And Lubricant (Cat No. 6400148) behind the mirror, and I never had a problem with the mirror since.

You need to configure the car with the appropriate hardware/software.(WDS, IDS, SDD)
